From Co-Commissioners Rocky, Doug & Jim
Welcome the the 9th Annual Rocky Bowl. We hope to find all of our Rocky Bowlers in good health and ready to once again try to become "The King Rocky Bowler". Just like last year, you will electronically email your entry back to this rockybowl2009@comcast.net and you will GET YOUR MONEY IN ON TIME. Please also fill in the form with your Name, email and method of payment.
To help with this process we encourage all payments be paid into the Rocky Bowl PAYPAL account. Forward your payment to steverockylong@yahoo.com and add any additional fees that may apply such as foreign exchange rates or credit card fees.
Or send your money by US Postal to:
Rocky Bowl
12615 160 Ave. SE
Renton, WA 98059
This Blog site will be used to post updated standings and host a forum for you to banter, bitch, and brag and as always I do expect Gary Long to be the first to post a challenge or two.
The commissioners run this contest for the express purpose of bragging and bantering, so if your not interested in slamming, being slammed and/or participating don't take up the space. In the Commissioners attempt to encourage more blog activity this year, we eliminated several of last years non active Rocky Bowlers, so do not become one of those.
And to create a group that may be easy to slam, we are recruiting a group of Canadians who know absolutely nothing about football (they think the ball is white and round) so we now can slam internationally. (Let us know if you have any trouble posting your comments. Don't make us come after you for not participating, blog illiteracy is not an excuse this day in age)
At the Rocky Bowl party the leader attending the party receives the Yellow Jersey and hopes to retain this honor as the games closeout for the day. (Not often does the yellow Jersey not change hands during the night.) The leader at the end of the night (Half Way) takes the Bobby Breeze award; in honor of The Top Rocky Bowler of all time, the late Bobbie Gregory. (Don't forget to plan your points if you plan to go for the Bobbie Breeze Award).
Gary do not forget that in 2008 you lost your bid for a three-peat to "Sis" for the Bobbie Breeze award and she has shouted from Oklahoma, "Not only will the Sooners be National Champs but I will kick not only Gary's but all challengers ASSES for this award"
A measly $20 entry fee is required for the Rocky Bowl fee. Based on the # of Entry's, we will determine the pay out, usually the Top 5 and the Bobbie Breeze award winner receive a nice chunk of change.
The Rocky Bowl 2009 party maybe Saturday December 27th or Tuesday December 30th. We will poll you once you have entered to determine which night is best. To help with costs everyone will be supporting the Rocky Bowl Party if you come or not by donating $2.50 of your entry fee to the party.
To invite someone who has not participated before, please forward their name and email address to us and we will forward a copy of the entry form and place them on the mailing list. Forward to: rockybowl2009@comcast.net.
You can follow the link from this site to see comments, payouts and pictures from the 2008 season and some of your favorite You Tube videos (At the Bottom). Including last years favorite, 'Nice Deck' by your favorite Blue Collar comedians. Let me us know if you have a favorite to add.
We hope once again you all enjoy the football bowl season a little more with "The Rocky Bowl".
Happy Holidays,
Rocky "The Good Loookin" Long,
Doug "Duke Daddy" Gregory
Jim "TopCoug" Stafford

I humbly submit for approval the changing of the last place trophy to the "Ty Willingham Cup".
ReplyDeleteSincerly,
Mr. Hopewell
Okay, I want the Bobbie Breeze back! I went down in flames last year.... =(
ReplyDeleteOnce again, I can't find the bowl game that my Huskies are in this year (it's surely lower than the Toilet Bowl...it must be the Sewage Bowl)!
I bet Jim (Top Coug) is gloating after the stellar Apple Cup victory (two totally inept teams playing sooooo badly that the game was actually "competitive").
It's time for me to kick some butt-owski this year in the Rocky Bowl (although it may be my own).
Yes, Cousin Gary, I am still gloating about our stellar 16-13 victory in double over-time. And for winning the Cup 4 out of 5 years for the first time in history. 3 of those victories coming on a defensive breakdown by the Dawgs lame secondary. I have to admit, crowning the Dawgs as the Worst team in UW and Pac-10 history was pretty sweet. The first team ever to go 0-12. Pretty cool for a Cougar to know that the Huskeis will cary this record with them forever (and we won't have to worry about this one in our storied record books).

Calling all sophisticated 'Rock Bowl Bloggers'....
This is our 3rd year of using this site to communicate information, post results and banter. The bantering keeps everyone interested and re-visiting the site on a regular basis.
So, don't be shy. Post your most intimate thoughts & insults on the Bowl games, BCS, Apple Cup, or close friends.
Come on, let's hear it!!!
Is there any action on the over/under number for the Big 10 even winning any bowl games this year???
ReplyDeleteAt least BucketHead, uh, I mean Buckeye Fan won't have to watch them choke yet another national championship this year. But to honor an old Buckeye tradition, I understand that Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini has promised to collar and punch any Clemson player that intercepts his quarterback in this year"s Gator Bowl!
Release the hounds!
